Welcome to the 38th IYPT – International Young Physicists’ Tournament – also known as the Physics World Cup in Lund, Sweden. During a week in the summer of 2025 you will be able to experience the Physics World Cup in action. We will welcome 40 international teams of high school students from as many countries to Lund. During the tournament, a reporting team will be challenged to present their solution to one of the 17 IYPT problems by the opposing team. After the report is given, the opponent presents the weaknesses of the report then conducts a scientific discussion aiming to add improvements and suggestions to the report. A third team reviews the report and discussion. A jury of physicists then grades the students at the end of a round. After five rounds of ‘physics fights’, at the end of the week a final will be held between the top three countries at Science Village Hall. See the tournament website for more details.
The IYPT is not like any other physics competition but is a team competition and challenges teams to communicate scientifically. We welcome you to watch the Physis World Cup in action and we hope to inspire the next generation.
The IYPT 2025 is only possible thanks to the support of our partners, sponsors and donors.
