Do you like to dance or would you like to know how? HepTown’s beginner’s Lindy Hop weekend course in Lund is the thing for you!
What is Lindy Hop? Lindy Hop is a partner dance and a Black American vernacular street dance that developed in and around Harlem, New York the 1920s-1940s. Today, it’s danced socially all over the world.
Our beginner’s course is an introduction for those who have absolutely no knowledge of Lindy Hop as well as for those who took a couple of courses a long time ago and need to brush up on the basics again.
You will learn the basic steps, most common figures, and basic techniques in connecting with your partner, following and leading, and more. The aim of the beginner’s course is to learn enough of the fundamentals so that you feel comfortable joining and dancing during our regular weekly social dance nights.
Many people attend our classes alone, with a partner, or with a group of friends. If you register as a pair (as follower and leader) you are guaranteed a spot in the class so long as the class is not already full. We rotate and change dance partners in all classes, regardless of how you registered, so that everyone can learn the dance and how to dance socially with others.
The workshop is a two-day introduction to this cool thing called Swing. We promise a workout worth a fitness centre combined with more fun than you’ve had for weeks. But be warned – it’s addictive…
Between 390-650 SEK. The course is open to everyone. Additionally, this particular course also has extra youth and student discounts.
